The DPX11500 is a strong amp.

Stronger than an MM1400.1d and an M1a from what I have seen at the shop. Strappable too.

Is this a 1 or 2 ohm stable amp? Everywhere I look it says 1500wrms @ 1 or 2 ohms. Is that correct???

Yes each amp is 1ohm stable.
Pairs are strappable at 2ohm.

I ran one on the sound board at the shop w/ 1 Optima d34 and got a clean ~1100wrms out of it at ~2ohm reactive on 10.5v! With a strong electrical, they make a DAM nice amp.

We actually had another local shop bad-mouth these amps awhile back. A guy bought one from us to run his L715 on. The other shop installed it and said it was nowhere near enough power for the L7, they recommended a ZX1000.1. They set the gains and everything...3 days later the L7 was fried.

The guy that bought the amp said the other shop had the BB all the way up on the Clarion amp and the sub sounded like it was about to rip apart. All I could do was laugh :-)

I was looking at them when they came out. They look really nice, but I wasn't sure of the quality. Good to know, Canaan.

So you got 1100 watts @ 2 ohms at 10.5v? Will they put out the same power @ 1 ohm, or a little more?

I might look into one of these in future, especially for the price.

IMO, the new DPX11551's look better. They don't rate em for 1ohm anymore though. The DPX11500 is massive. I'm not sure, but I think Clarion just changed the case on the new 1551's.

We just got a few APX1301's in today and they look NICE. Carbon Fiber look around the Clarion badge in the center.

Pretty decent amp. I've had the 11500 and it was comparable to my old MTX 1501D and my current Memphis MC1500D.

I've had 3 over the course of the last 7 years, the last 1501D I got rid of a lil over 4 years ago when I found out I was going to be a daddy. Growing up, my as.s. Still as addicted as ever :-)

Pretty good, but a bit more expensive unless you find a good deal(I paid $170 used for mine).
I've watched a few ebay auctions for the memphis 1500, and they usually end around $300 for a used one, whereas you can buy an MTX 81001 for $339 at OCS, shipped. The clarion is a better price yet, and I think you'll like it. Better aesthetics too, imo.
