why do you guys tune so high?

was talking to kevin holden and he tuned his around that high also. i had mine tuned to 33hz. i liked it but thought it could be lower so i made the port a bit longer to bring the tuning down to 30hz. now it has awesome flat response.

well i don't listen to too much bass songs. mainly jazz, blues, and some r & b. that is when i am not listening to my avril or heavy metal.

with this lower tuned box, you get a real warm and low rumbling bass. the bass guitar sounds perfect and doesn't peak through the subs. i really love it. i did however lose a bit of out put on bass songs. but it still hits. i was listening to "get buck in here" earlier today and it hit.

i added that piece in red you see in the pic below.

I would say poly line it (in sheet form) for even better sq but youd probably have to remove the port length you just added to keep a 30 hz tune

nice. now I am curious as to what the project is. dbdrag isn't too big around here. but I think soon the new mexico audio scene is going to pick up. there is a usaci event in april and maybe a dbdrag event following it soon. you could come out here for that. =) it will be fun.

Chad,

I am trying to get ahold of a used Coke astro van for $500. If I do, then I may do a nice wall of 18's for bassrace/street beat myself.

As of now though, the Alpha is holding it down hehe. I am looking at 2 Sonance 15's in the Edge before Spring Fling in 2 weeks. I am sure that will get a little loud :-)

Kevin

PS: Your drawing of the sub in the box looks like a tea pitcher lol.
