I want to double, maybe triple, baffle and pad under the amp so it's not rattling like crazy. I'm going with blue LEDs to shine through the plexi window that will sit between my back captains chairs and i'm going to probably do a battery rack on each side of the box for symmetry. Its going to be around 4.2 cubes after sub and port displacement tuned to 33 hz. I am debating on using aeros, going flared slot, or just regular slot.

Also, here's a picture of the area it will be going into so you have an idea of what I mean.

i wouldn't risk putting the amp on the box. or hook everything up and hold your hand on the layers of pad and if you feel any rattle on your hand at all (which i believe you will) don't mount it. looks sweet though

yeah i was thinking of maybe doing something like that driz. i don't wanna do a rack because i want to have some room for other sh!t in the back of my car, and there's about 20 inches to the hatch. the amp is so fuggin big it's pretty incovenient.

i'm thinking no. that's part of the reason why i am debating going with aeros or flared. could i go down a little bit in box size if i go with aeros?

dont' make it smaller. just keep the specs you have planned.

if you do aeroports, you probably need at least 2 6inch aeros.

well i need more room on the sides for battery racks and as of now i only have 7 inches on each side and that is WAY too small... as of right now it's going to be 6.473 gross and the specs are 20 h x 34 w x 20 d. I could probably go 24 or 25 deep and cut the width to 30, though. that's probably what i'll do.

Flaired aeros might work.

That link describes how to calculate the decrease in area you can get with flairs.

gonna look sweet man. Why wouldnt he make it smaller if he used areos? Those would take up less box space and he could make it smaller for the batteries. Use areos, make the box 3" deeper and downsize it to account for the areos and I bet you could fit the batts in

OK I rarely comment in box threads but don't go with aero's for this. With a driver as brutal as this one is, slotted is going to give you many advantages. These include better cab bracing, no turbulence inside the box caused by the port tube, and no chuffing and port noise externally. There is a reason nearly all high output concert boxes are slot ported. The BL on the 5200 is insane and there is going to be some furious air wanting out of that thing... let him breathe. Go with a wide slot and flare it you know how. 1" MDF all around with a double baffle.

Yea reece thts a pretty expensive amp u got there I wudnt want to even risk hurting it if tht were me. I think u should make a custom amp rack on the side of ur "trunk" like a vertical peiece of mdf on the side. I wud post a pic of what I'm tlkin bout but I'm @ work if u really want to kno ill post up later. Good luck

something ill throw out too.....consider a external slot port if you can... it will make the box size smaller for the subwoofer but you can run the port any way you want and mount your amp somewhere in that layout...if you want an idea of what im talking about look at troy's build for his wifes car...you dont have to copy it just draw your visuals from it...this will also cut down on any port turbulence issues and maybe even give you a chance to setup a swappable port

okay, so here's the final set on my box (i think). gonna go 20 h x 30w x 24d, sub and port up, port is 22.5 x 3 x 29.3 long. considering doing plexi on both sides now. do yall think i should just stick witht he plexi just facing the hatch or just facing between my captains chairs and leave the back of the both just carpeted.
