They have a purpose meaning they're not worthless. However far too many ppl get them for the wrong reasons. There is no substitute for a proper charging system and a cap is NOT a part of charging.
finally, someone agrees... Dont put a cap in for the heck of it, make sure your charging system is up to par first. A cap can be helpful but not a cure all.
