when making a ported box, i could make the port between 3 inches and 2 inches, in intervals of 1/4". if the port height is 14", would a 3 inch width be better then say a 2" width or does the width really matter. i just want to make sure there wont be any port noise or anything along those lines. i know the wider the port is, the longer the port needs to be. if it matters the port will be tuned to 30 Hz.
Your the one I was helping before right? Anyway yes a wider port would be better. As a compromise you could lower your ports height and just double the ports thickness at the top and bottom another .75 each and use that to make your port wider.
