4 subs and 25feet of 0awg wire for some big 3 action.

Upload

The subs are all RD Sonance.

The 15" is going in me and my girls 06 Suzuki Aerio in a ported box, tuned for decent SQ and the 2 10" subs are going in a ported box in my friends 06 Mazda RX-8.

The 3rd 10" is for good measure and might be going in my winter beater.

@JK32SHO

Yeah the cones are different as the 10" Sonance's are custom done with Kevlar whereas the 15" isn't.

@Chad
How long have you been waiting? I ordered these about 2 weeks ago, Canada.

@Rob
Will do, I have 2 12" Elite's V.2 in my room waiting to be installed as well. I have to wait for the snow to melt.. :-(

Well I started out with the 5750.1 and I love that amp so I needed some subs to handle the power, so I went RD. Pretty much my sub amp and subs are (or will be) all RD, my 4 channel amp is still Helix though I love that thing!

Let us know how those components sound!

Reece, why contribute if it's all negative?

You have to get peoples opinions on gear as going out and buying something at random usually yields poor results, especially if you don't really know what to look for. Know how many people I spoke to before purchasing my RD's? Lots.

Thanks Rovin!

Any chance you remember what you told me when you gave me advice to hooking up my amp to my subs? I can't find the thread as I totally forgot what you said, as I don't want to use 8 bolts and wings (one per VC on each sub)....

Thanks man!

Hrm, no it wasn't quite that. I'll try to re-write what I had posted.

My subs are dual VC, and I'm looking for the easiest way to hook them up to my amp. My current set up uses 8 bolts (through the box) and about 16 runs of wire with ring terminals on them, so I can change the ohm load on the fly. Thing is my new box is going to be huge so I wont have any room to wire them up in the side or top, I even thought about running them through the port....

I think you suggested something along the lines passing the wires through the box and re-sealing the holes up, but I cant remember what you said exaclty to use inside the box so I can hook up the 2 runs from the amp, to the 8 VC's.

Thanks again man!

well yes u can just simply drill holes & run em through but if u want to keep ur wiring options open then thats alot of wires (2 subs right ? = 8 wires) which will simply look just weird

what i normally do is decide before what load im going to use & wire the sub/s inside the box & place 2 terminals off that strip outside

like this when i had my 4 10s (2 subs in each box) .......Upload

Yeah as I'm going for a .5ohm load. (2 x 2 DVC)

My new box that Steve designed has the port run down the middle with the subs on either side, so the wires will be visible when looking down the port and that run from + to + on each sub will be like 5-10 feet long to reach the other sub on the other side of the port.

Your idea should work though, just takes a couple long runs rather than 16 ring terminals.

Hey rovin are those eminence you're running for mids..

They resemble the redcoat series (ragin cujan)that i presently have...

And what tweeters are you using in that application to keep up with all that rear midrange set up...
