ok heres the deal i have 2 15 inch mmats 3.0s right now powered by a 1000 watt amp in a sealed box i have had this system for about 2 years now and im growing quite tired of it so i have been looking into getting a pair of those cvx's and was wondering what the ideal setup for those would be which amp i should get what the specs on the box should be etc etc... i want pure spl but it does have to have some sq......thanks you guys your help is much appreciated

p3.0 > CVX... not to mention you are underpowering those subs. They are rated at 700 watts rms for a reason. what "1000 watt amp" do you have?

Give them 1500-1600rms and place them in a good ported box = new experience.

its a soundstorm 2 channel amp and the subs are like 3 years old and have seen better days lots of distortion on medium to high volume even with the level on the amp turned down so im thinking its time for a new setup

time for a new amp. What is the voice coil configuration on your subs? Dual 2 or Dual 4?

Get yourself an amplifier that is stable at 1ohm and produces 1400-1500 watts RMS.
