I listen to mainly heavy metal, so im lookin for a real tight, punchy bass sound. My current setup (panasonic hu, kappa 6"comps, and a reference 6 channel 600w amp, and some old pos 10" sub i got for free) is definately lacking the midbass im looking for. Ive got about $500 to spend on new sub/enclosure setup. Also, this is going in a std cab sonoma pickup, so i was wondering if anyone had some input on whether a single 10 or dual 8's would accomplish this better in a small truck box. Oh yeah, my amp can only supply about 280rms bridged. Any info/opinions would be great. tks

If you can find a 10" arsenal (older model) you would be happy. At least my 12" arsenal holds up good w/ quick bass and I'm happy. If you go that route and build your box, you can upgrade your amp too for 500. just my .02

The box will have the greatest impact; far greater than the woofer.
