best case scenario it gets hot and shuts down. Worst -- poof. I don't think there would be any advantage unless you're cold - it might help warm up your car.

0.5 ohm daily amps usually cost more.it would prolly run it that low for a while.but will most likely shorten the life span by alot. i wouldnt try it tho.it could just smoke in 5 minutes

See if this guy is interested in buying it first, then put that money towards a new amp.

Got many amps Don't need anymore atm maybe I'll part a amp or 2 out later to buy a new one, I think running it @ 2 ohms on that amp will be decent atm; also on that link the RF amp freaks me out man i just dont like how naked the internals are for about a year.

well i think that's a decent 0.5 ohm stable amp for the budget. It's hard to find an amp that's 0.5 stable and brings warranty.

Search on ebay or www.lanzar.com

They're around 350$ shipped. i think it would be way better to play with something that was meant to work in those conditions

I played my KX1200.1 @ .5 daily for about 6 months, and it NEVER ran hot... It got warmer than it did @ 1ohm...
.... But it never shut off or anything of that sort.

I believe if you have the voltage, it'll be fine!
... my Nissan Sentra doesn't drop believe 13.2v so, it'll be good... Just don't go A-wall with it!

Current draw from the electrical system is not the only problem........ the amps internal devices are not designed to handle an impedance that low.

Bottom line: Don't run a 1 ohm rated amp at 0.5 ohm unless it's a Sundown SAZ-1500d, IA 20.1, etc.

The internals in the KX1200.1 are big enough to handle it.

For a while. It will cause damage eventually. It is rated 1 ohm minimum for a reason.

You can run that amp at .5ohms for burps but I really wouldn't daily it that way. I may wire up my subs in parallel one of these days and show my 4 KX1200.1s half the resistance and slam it for the TL.
