hey, don't be hating on the 8's..
mine did 135.5 at the comp last year...not bad for 2-8's and a 400watt amp.

michael, I know that, thats why I was kidding..
my RE's are great as far as I am concerned, seem to work perfectly in my car,but I know the 1508's would pwn them...then again...Canaan ran one 1507 in his truck, with 900 watts on it, and didnt get as high a numbers as I did with my setup at less than 1/2 the wattage

I believe Cannan was just experimenting or bullshetting with that 1508 and not so serious like you are with your RE's.

rl-is are very good subs. don't think they'll take the dds' in output, but definately in sq.

Oh and i already have an alpine mrd-1005 that does 1000w at 2 ohms and 750 at 4 ohms. So do they make the 1508's in dvc 2ohm?

Ok, I only ran the 1508's for alil while. It was while I waited for my 3515's to come in. But they sounded great. I ran them on my 20.1 at 2ohm in a 1.5cuft box tuned to ~38hz.

Great subs, but to tell you the truth if was doing it again...I would have gone smaller on the box. Prolly 1.25cu ft. They kinda liked to unload in 1.5cu ft but that that was on the 20.1, so it was more power than they really needed. These lil subs are REALLY over-motored. Amazing quick response though and you will never guess they are 8's on the lows, they are lil monsters.

They did 138's at 40hz...pretty mean for 8's daily in a full size truck!

I loved the way they sounded and turned ALOT of local people to DD w/ them. You can get great bass and take up very little space w/ them.

A pair of 1508's on a mrd-1005 would be very nice, you would have plenty of clean power for them daily.

1508's are mean, but the few times i have heard RLi8's they were cleaner sounding. The DD's do sound dam nice though.

I really like the 1500series as a whole and have developed a liking for the 500's more and more recently after playing around w/ them.

you might be pressing it on a cavalier but you should be fine depending on what amp you get and how efficient it is.
