What do you all think would be better? The IA puts out 46-4800 at 14.4 volts and 3600 watts at 12v, but at the same time pulls right at 500 amps. the VFLs would probably put out 42-4300 maybe a little more strapped at 14.4v, and they cost about 100 less. What do you all think my best option is?

Pretty sure the IA40.1 is the same as the VFL 500.1 soooo, ya the 40 is about twice as nice. To put into perspective, my IA 40.1 is stronger than my DD Z1a on the same 16V system. I really think the Z1a has more in her that is why I haven't sold it yet, always want to be sure...Polo..

Actually the IA40.1 is not a current hog at all! It runs super efficient at 1 ohm, not quite as my Z1a but it also puts more power out than it also, very nice amp you would be really really really happy with the IA seriously.. :-O Polo...

PS-> Just because you maybe have a great deal of power doesn't mean you have to use it all.:-O

Ummm, your math is still wrong.........

VFL 200.1s do 3000w at 1 ohm each. So you're looking at 6000w for 2 of those right? In that case I'd get the VFLs..........

Dude, NO I'll trade you a silver for a black, then you will have two silver ones. I have no need for a silver, either I trade it to you or I'll paint it.. :-) Polo..
