i got a friend and were going to pick up a single or a pair of 8s probably and i dont really know where to look. i mean, 8s?

i searched and found a thread by chad and his friend was doing the same thing. this dude listens to rock and stuff like that too, sooo...

the image dynamics look nice and their 100 apiece but do they get loud at all?

how much are the audioque SD2 8s?

Image Dynamics make very nice woofers. I haven't heard the 8's but I have heard the 10's and I was surprised how loud they got. Why 8's man...get something BIGGER...whats it going in? You friend wants SQ but not loud? Well he can still get SQ because no matter what he gets it wont be loud after he gets use to it...he will just want more and more

the sound quality probably wont be an issue because all the 8s i have seen so far are decent sounding subs, except the audioque, dont know about that one, if it sounds anything like the dee deez then no...

we would have bought the rl-is from you... :-(

IMO he should run a single 10".

Heres another option though...not bad for 75 bucks a pop.

" if it sounds anything like the dee deez then no... "

What an ignorant statement that was. As if all DD subs sound the same.........

If your DD subs sounded bad you did something wrong....... yes they sacrifice low end for a gain in SPL. They are SPL based subs that are also ok for daily. But they don't sound BAD........

and they dont sound GOOD...

dude, ive always been impressed with their output. i even plan on building a burp car again this year and im going to prolly use DD or audioque.

see its suggestions like these that eff up the car audio world, especially on internet forums. im looking for some good sounding 8" subs for a dude that just wants to hear some rock and you suggest something i already said im not intrested in. and i never said anything about the lows, i was actually impressed there as well for a sub with its piticular specs.

rap is fine with them but anything very musical and they sound nasty. people i personally know that have listened with me agreed at the same times. were going with a 10" anyways...

Could you fit a pair of the eD SQ10s? That might be another option.

and i was really just joking when i said that stuff about them "sounding anything like the dee deez"... i know they dont all sound the same and i know that some of the piticular models do sound pretty decent but from what all i have heard, they are just not the path we are looking for.

and i think the SD2 would sound as good or better than any of the DD subs i have heard though.

I didn't suggest you use them, I just challenged your saying they don't sound good.

I have a 9500 series, the one with probably the least SQ of all their models, and it sounds decent on music. And has amazing output for 1 sub. Not an SQ system by far but the average person wouldn't notice a difference from other subs.

It does lack low end, but that is a characteristic of the 9500s.
