Got 2 BIG projects going on right now... there has been a couple of threads associated with them over at ca.com. So instead of reposting everything, I will just link you to my thread over at caj.com. Sorry for your inconvenience, but it is really much, much easier this way....

Let me know what you guys think.

Thanks,

B.J.

This logo will actually be cut into the bracing, and my logo will be cut with a cnc into the back of the plexi window. Should be pretty cool when its all done...

Nice work with the jig! Makes me wanna pull out some wood and play lol.

Whoa that sounded fucked up.

Anyway, I see you keep your sub cut outs. Any reason? I can never find any use for them. I keep a few just in case but you have a stock pile of them.

LOL, as long as you dont decide to post pics of you playing with your wood, I think it will be ok...

Well, the only reason I really keep my cut outs is for making rings.... which I dont really do too much of, so I could probably stop keeping them, LOL.

But its kinda funny to look at sometime, just looking over and seeing over a 100 circle cutouts stacked there....

Well the bracing looks weird to me. I like the whole idea of making the bracing into something to see through the window. But the two V shaped braces look kinda intruded onto the 'Fi' in the middle. And the FC in the top left looks awkwardly small with the Fi directly in the middle.

If I would have done this design - I would have done without the V bracings and made it possibly just regular box bracing with the white Fi in the middle.

THEN I would not have painted it RED inside.... it shows all the bracing and make the Fi not stand out. I think it would have been cooler if it was all black inside and then the Fi was appeared to be floating.

Then if you really wanted to inscribe something into the plexi - then make it a smaller longer logo @ the bottom edge like. FisherCustoms length wise so it doesnt take focus off the floating Fi.

I dunno, just my opinion and I think its a cool idea for people to design stuff out of bracing

u guys mostly use 3\4 right ?

i like using 1" once space is available & its a powerful sub ...less bracing & energy lost ftw

Well, the reason the bracing is shaped the way it is, is to all the subs to fit down into the box. Since its an upfiring box, we had to leave room for the subs motor. You know what I mean by that?

As for the etched FC, like I said in the threads, I really wanted to be able to make it much larger, but I didnt want it to look crowded with the FI logo. So that really limited me....

I really like your idea with the black and white in the box, but that was a customer requirement. Not much I could do there. But, I am doing another box with a logo in the bracing soon, and its going to be black and white, so we will get a chance to see what that looks like.

Just giving you the reasons why some of the stuff was done like it was. But I really appreciate your feedback. Like I said earlier, I love hearing peoples opinions, because it allows other ideas to flow.

Thanks to everyone else as well for the compliements. Hopefully I will have more updates tonight.

That exact box, to be built again would run $300 shipped with carpet. Basically, my standard 4 cube price, plus an extra $100 for the plexi, bracing, double baffles, and extra labor.
