I was wondering if the JBL PowerValve BP-1200.1 could run a pair of JL 10W6 very nicely and play them LOUD! I'm either going use that amp to run them or a pair of 10" JBL P1020 with dual voice coil. Oh ya, one more question, are mono amps better then say a 2 channel amp? Thanks in advance for any help.
It'll be too much power for the W6's. The W6v2's are recommended to take 400W RMS, the W6AE's take around 300. Either set of W6's you get will be overpowered by a considerable margin, 400W at the least. Monos are not necessarily better as far as a sound quality standpoint, but are cheaper for the power and draw less current and create less heat.
