May be a stupid question but could you put 2 batteries on 1 amp? or would this smoke both amp and sub. If it did not, than would it make the amp more powerfull

in one word chang..... no,
you can run 2 or more batterys in parallel which would give you a larger power reserve but you wouldnt get any more volts to the amp which is what you need to do to get the most from your amp, for that you need a new alternator

if you are only going to use the batterys for the system alone the all it would do is prolong the life of the batterys. definatly dont run your amp at 24 volts that would be a very expencive mistake

lol yes it would

ok think of it like this..

your drinking water....and you drink it all, so you get twice the amount of water...theres alot more but you drink it all in about twice the time

lol i dont know if that helps but thats the same thing on adding a second battery, it would just double the lifetime of your system before the batteries both die.

best bet is a new alternator

ok it's more like this:

first, stick your tongue into a wall outlet..
then get back to me for step two.

Also, a second battery actually acts as its own load, so since your syetem is already lacking power, adding a battery will make it worse. The only good thing is it'll play longer when the engine is stopped. Upgrade your alternator.
