i think you'd benefit from a higher lift cam.. you want your powerband to be higher..

that motor you have is going to have some torque but its all low end.. thats great for towing a boat but not performance

whats the car being built for? from the gearing choice i'd say a 1/4 mile

i swapped my rear to a 8.25" with 4.11 gears.. car was nothing but a whole shot since it topped out quick

Well i dont know. This is the first car engine I have ever done. I thought that would be the best cam for the money since I am looking for low- mid range power. And since the cam I bought has a powerband from 1500-4500 rmp, I thought it would be good. But hell, If you think there is one better, Im all for it.

I'm just building it for a mild street car that I can take to the strip if I want. They way it is right now, It will run mid 13's on the 1/4 mile.

logan.. your best bet would probably be in the low .400s .. mild lope but a nice top end

SBCs are known for being able to rev high when built right

if you want to drag i'd suggest getting yourself a stall converter since its an auto.. whichever cam you pick get a stall converter to pick up at the RPM the power band starts.. either or powerbrake it

if you can go without some panels i'd gut that car and lose some weight.. thats the only other drawback

on another note.. that car that has the 150mpg limiter..

well ive gone 155mpg in my car on the hwy.. 60mph zone.. it was really too fast

anything over double the speed limit is way too dangerous unless there is no traffic at all.. it was fun as he|| going that fast but im not going to do it again.. i normally don't have to go that fast unless im racing a vette/camaro/trans am anyways

sooo.. a limit for 150mph is not a bad thing.. too crazy of a speed if you've actually drove that fast in a car and saw it first hand

Here is my ride

1994 Chevrolet S10 Blazer 4WD 4dr

2

3

5

6

Original engine, trans, rearend, all the major stuff on 172k miles and still going

7

4.3L motor. Yeah I know it's dirty I haven't cleaned the engine bay ever

8

Ok, mods that I've done. I installed a remote starter and keyless entry (didn't come with that stock). And of course the electrical system:

200 amp alternator from DB Electrical

9

Odyssey 1500 battery

10

Now the exhaust. Stock from the cat converter foreword. After that, 2.5" pipe to a Flowmaster 40 series muffler, then pipe to a turndown before the rear axle. It sounds real nice, has a deep roar to it. Think opposite of those stupid rice-mobiles with the f.a.r.t can mufflers :-)

So far the nissan is the only one with big enough rims to not look like they just put on what ever would fit
