RTA on your pc

does anyone know where i can get a RTA software?

i was thinking getting a decent mic for my laptop and i can run that software. then use it to fine tune my sound system.

I use that software. I went and got the crack for the full version

I use a Behringer ECM8000 mic and Behringer UB802 mixer as a preamp, as TrueRTA recommends on their FAQ page. From what I hear though, you can get a ordinary preamp for less than the mixer.

looks cool.

i was actually looking for something more simple. something i can just us my pc mic with. lol. but i guess if i want to do it right, i have to have the right equipment.

Would a mic produce different amplitudes at different frequencies, given a set volume? Specifically, a cheap mic.

A cheap mic will not work.

You have to use a mic specifically designed for these measurements like that Behringer.
