ive sold my system locally and fixing to upgrade to something new heres the 2 choices...just a reminder i only have 800$

power acoustik 5500...suppose to put out 3200 rms @ 1 ohm but prolly about 2800 to 2900...remember they are cheap and i only have 800$

as for sub or sub's i can get (1) 1 used kicker solo x 18 for 400$ shipped and use the pa amp to power it

or get (2) fi audio BL 18's loaded powered by the pa amp

there will also be a kinetik batt 2400 added to this

what do you all think and why

If you want to do a pair of 18s with that kind of budget, go Mach 5. In your place, however, I'd save up more. Running a true 3 kW just won't happen on that kind of budget.

Yeah. If you're sticking with that amp, maybe get SSDs if you really want Fi subs. That amp would have the proper power for 2 of those.

(2) 18" Fi.BL's loaded are $688 so unless your getting your 3Kw amp for $122 shipped i don't think thats in your budget. Also what kind of vehicle do you have. (2) 18" require a lot of space.

imo you dont need 3k to have a great system. if i had 8-900 bux to play with and i wanted new equipment i would go with a single 15 and about 2k of power. this would give you room to give the 15 some good amount of airspace. but dont know what kind of car you have. fyi i have a subaru wagon, and i can onlt fit 1 18 in there. thats with a 9cu ft box after all displacement. so 18s are hard to do unless you have a big ol suv.

i would run a si mag 15 with a rd audio 1750.1 the 1750.1 can be had for lik 425 i believe from havoc audio, or low hz. th mag con be gotten from low hz as well.

I would buy the two BLs and either save for a good 3krms amp (A rockford t2000 or t3000 would do great), or run them off that amp until you could save up for the bigger one. If you have an excalade you know you have to do it big :-)

I'm sorry, but going from 2 18s to 2 13s would be a huge loss in cone area. 1 18 would have roughly the same area as 2 of those 13s, and 1 BL would also handle more power.

I understand price/size, but there's hope to wait. I'd rather have a sing BL 18 off 1 bxi2006d , that would only be about 700. Then a 2nd pair down the road. 1 nice T3k would be worth the wait though

but guys hows hard is it to get an amp that puts out 800 rms at 4 ohms a simpe mtx 81000d or a mtx 1501d would suit that job they are rated 500 rms at 4 ohm and 1000 rms at 2 ohm but actually put out 750 plus rms birthsheet at 4 ohms and 1500 plus rms birthsheet at 2 ohms...( I owned the mtx 81000d its a solid amp the mtx 1501 d is the same amp just a new look)
