Just wondering if anyone (Pro box builder ppl) would be able to send me specs on a box tuned to 42hz, so after box rise it will be 47hz. Reason being is my old box was tuned to 47hz and I was louder when playing 45hz test tones, so Steve suggested 40-42tuning as the subs need between 2-2.5 cubes ea. after displacement for a daily/spl setup.

The box would need 2 front baffle pieces for stability (maybe 3) and would be for competition and daily, so it's not a one hit wonder.

Subs are 2x12" RD Elite SPL's V.2's and the specs can be up to MAX of: (Basically my entire trunk!)

L-32"
w- 33"
h-15"

Sub specs from RD (Steve)

I thought you had the box designed covered with the email you sent with the drawings. You want to tune them around 45hz. You should really use 1" board or double the 3/4 all the way around. If you use 1" i would double plate the face plate to make it 2" and dont be shy on the bracing.

These are internal diamentions. All done off you using 1" thick board even for port walls 1"
13" tall
31" wide
25" depth

Port
13" tall
6.5" wide = actual opening = 84.5
20.75" deep = from front of the port to the back

tuned to 45hz peaks 48-53hz
Total 5.8 cubic feet
after sub and port= 4.1 cubic feet

Run the port right inbetween the two suboofers to use as bracing in the middle of the box.
It will be a tight fit on front plate so put the subwoofers as far as possible the the sides.

Mike if you have any questions send me an email.
thanks

If you have to use 3/4" the port will be around 19.5" deep instead on 20.75"

the reason you were probably louder at 45 hz with a 47 hz port tune is probably because the true tuning was 45 hz....the tuning can vary from actual intended port tuning sometimes....just thought id throw that in for your considerations

I thought I heard that boxes would generally peak ~10 Hz above the Fb. True or false?
