Monday, December 03, 2007 - 01:05 GMT Thanks to your guys help, I have found the sub(s) I want, including the amp. I was just wondering one thing. What would sound better? 2 12" subs or 1 15" sub? if it helps, it is going to be the alpine type R's with hifonics 1606D amp. Im looking for deep bass, nice thump, i want to feel the bass along with hearing it. Im just right into bass. So pretty much the ovious, the type of music i listen to is rap/hip hop. I am in a toyota corrolla, it has a lot of trunk room. so yea, what do you guys think wold be a better pick? I have been leaning towards to 2 12" pretty hard. I hope this gives enough information, thanks guys

Monday, December 03, 2007 - 01:32 GMT 2 12's would be louder than 1 15... thats 24inches vs. only 15.. more cone area... so id strap that 1606 to the 2 12s and let er rip..

Monday, December 03, 2007 - 06:41 GMT VC23, "2 12's would be louder than 1 15... thats 24inches vs. only 15.. more cone area... so id strap that 1606 to the 2 12s and let er rip.." you arent multiplying a straight line. its CONE AREA meaning u take 12x2 then multiply by pi (3.14)then multiply 15 by pi and you getthe real results. and also the cone area is always less than 15 or 12. usually an inch or so depending on subs if that makes any sense. as for "strap that 1606 to the 2 12s and let er rip..."....... strapping means taking TWO amplifiers and running them together on same load. as far as i know its impossible to strap a single amp. you might have meant BRIDGE (which can be done with single amp) but even in this case you cant BRIDGE a MONO amplifier to my knowledge...
