You could do it.. Maybe for use in a shop or something? Good alternative to an inverter I guess, just gotta charge the cap every once and awhile depending on the size... In a vehicle I can't think of any reason why you would want to..

more power in street classes where the car isnt running I guess is why they had the idea

A cap on a HU makes no difference. That's like using a pressure washer to fill up your swimming pool. Makes no sense and doesn't do anything good.

Well the pressure washer would clean some extra grime off the pool liner.....

Get the cap if you need to have those cables cleaned of audio grime!
