Should I use polyfil?

What should I use to fill in the space behind my speaker adapters I got so 6x9 to 6.5 speaker adapters and I'm wondering should I fill it with anything 2 help the sound... the subs I have now have a whole bunch of what looks like cotton in it I can use for the speaker adapters. Does polyfil look like cotton

how much do you actually put in the box? do you stuff it until it doesn't go in anymore or do you put it real losely?

Pack it in, not real tightly though, and leave some space around where the speaker will go.

Do it like the one is Paul's picture.

BTW what are you using this for? The purpose of poly fill is to make a box seem larger than it is.

I'm trying 2 use it as deadener for my speaker housing bcuz I bought an adapter to make a 6x9 to a 6.5" and I know there is going to be some extra space.

So if the space is already too large why would you want to make it seem larger?

Ughh ok I don't want to make it larger I want to fill it in with something to increase sound quality.
