Sometime in the future im going to upgrade my HT system. Im looking for a 15" sub. The amp i have at the moment is 500rms at 4ohms. I may upgrade to a 1000rms amp at 4ohms depending on what sub i decide to get.

So i need a sub that plays at 500 or 1000rms at 4ohms. Good SQ. Gets loud. And gets very low thats what i want the most. Also needs to be efficient.

opinions...?

agian AA ava, chad the owner of AA had 2 18's ava's and cracked his foundation with them, so im pretty sure they get loud, and with a fs of 16hz im sure they get low.

Good luck finding it. It's been my mythical unicorn for some time. You can find her used, mostly abused. If you find one in good shape jump on it like it was next years "Ho of the week".

um last i knew you had to go through AA to get recones. but since its xbl motor im sure re or fi could recone it but the TS specs would probally change, and paul there not really that hard to find there on ebay once and a great while and if you look on forums theer useally one every now and again.

Ok ive got another problem. They only came in DVC4ohm correct? Well for HT all plate amps are 4ohms so i need to get it reconed do dvc2ohm.

So if i was to find a motor should i email FI, RE or AA about a recone and what kind of soft parts should i use?

And if it got reconed it wouldnt change the fs correct?

the ava only came in dvc2, and it would depend on who reconed it if the FS would change, mainly due to the moving mass of the cone, but if your getting it reconed you can make it any VC you want. or you could do what chauncey said, that dayton is just like the ava, but i still sy the ava would be better.
