If you want a bloated sw, try Norton 360. That is guaranteed to slow down your system by at least 20% - 40%.
Norton used to be good in the past, but now they're turning into Sony and Microsoft. All about making money, as quickly as possible. Their CEOs/VPs act like they want to retire tomorrow.
How else can you explain their greed?

I don't have any problems and I don't have virus protection, worst comes to worst I'll just format my hard drive, flash my bios and reinstall my OS and it's a fresh computer all over again.

Rob if you're going to do that, then you really need a Mac. With VMWare, you can run instances of Windows. If one of them gets infected, you can delete it instantly and open up another clean window.
This is why I love Macs. Almost no virus, no spyware, no spam (when compared to PC).

Well I don't have any problems with my PC and I really don't like Macs either.I wouldn't use it to it's full potential or even things that it excels at.No point in my getting a Mac,besides if I went with a Mac how could I OC it to 6Ghz and beyond?Phase change cooling FTW.

I was going to say Avast or AVG (I use Avast) and spybot search and destroy (use that as well). Great free programs that are super easy to use and Avast is totally free (for home use) and it updates quite frequently.

Someone make a thread that lists all useable free software. That way, we won't have to make Microsoft and Norton any richer.
