as some of you amy know i got a ticket for my front side windows being tinted.

i just got done taking off the tint so i can go to court to take care of the fix ticket.

well after i got done taking off the tint, it left the glue residue on the window. its too hard to take it off with windex.

are there any chemicals i can use to take the glue residue off? please help me. lol.

thanks in advance

chad.

Goof Off and/or acetone. Just make sure it doesn't drip or run onto your paint or plastic. You will also need to use a single edged razor blade.

"do not use acetone goof off is a solvent that ould also work"

Acetone IS a solvent and I have used it many times to get off window tint adhesive lol. Goof Off works better but just don't breathe the stuff... it is wicked and will make you loopy real quick. That goes for acetone too but Goof Off will make you permanently dumb. My friend worked with the stuff for a few months and he was a really sharp guy. Now he is like Lil Rob, not even kidding.

Chad I was where you were once. Best advice I was given was soapy water and a sharp razor blade. Slid right off.

Goof Off is absolutely harmful to paint and plastics. It will eat just about anything it gets on.
Like I said in my first post, he has to be sure to not get any on his paint or anything else but the glass. Do what Chris said, use a rag to apply and also put another old towel or big rag at the bottom of the window to catch any drips.

I sat and tried to rub off the adhesive from the tint off my camaro's windows for hours. For me chemicals didn't work. Soapy water and the blade did though. No chance of paint harm either.
