well long time no post for me, after I learned a ton of stuff from the ecoustics family and bought my system i kind of fell off the whole subwoofer thread. So last night walking to my car from work i noticed my back passenger window was pushed in and i had speaker wires hanging out of my trunk... So i guess im back at it again from the start or well actually not the start only my subs were stolen, idiots left my kicker kx1200. So i was wondering anyone have any ideas on a new sub, i perfer only 1 i use to really like diamond audio, but i always loved to hear the opinions here before i did anything, so let me hear what u guys have in mind

I like the SSA and the Havoc, the second link didnt work and the fourth link i dont think i want to drop that much money, even though i said no budget lol....

Are both those subs better in SQ then my previous kickers?

And how much less power will one of those subs be compared to my old kickers, will it be that big of a difference?

Thanks again

Here's the link to the Mag. Just from what I've heard, that's the sub I'd go with. Then the Havoc. Only from what I've heard so far.

Email Kevin, if he doesn't post in here, and you might get a deal.

When i had my kickers i bought a custom box and it was much better then the original box i had.. Also im looking to get a 12 inch this time since im only going to buy 1, do i need dual 1 or 2 OHM and also what is BP Power?

Cavs

BP Power=More power handling 200-400RMS more.(I think)

Get a Fi Q 12" Dual 2ohm sub and wire it like this to 1ohm.

so paying an extra 40 bucks seems worth it. For the box should i go ported or sealed my old box was ported which i liked but i want more SQ for this setup so i think sealed is better? And what size box do i need... thanks for the help

I would spend the extra $40.(But thats me)

Sealed Box 1.5cf
Vented Box 2.5cf(tuned around 35Hz)

I would go with vented.

Chris from fisher customs told me
"If you're wanting to maximize the SQ of the Q, then honestly sealed is the way to go. If you're dead set on ported, then I'd tune at 30Hz, tuning at 35Hz will hurt your SQ slightly."

What do you guys think about this? Should i still go ported or take his advice and go sealed.

Anyone have any opinions on the dimensions i should go with on the box, my old box was W 34 3/4 H 15 TD 17 1/4 BD 17 1/4, but that was for two subs, so im hoping i can get something smaller but if i need something big to maximize the output on the sub then thats the biggest i can go. Thanks a lot

I've got a 12" Fi Q with BP Power and it sounds amazing. As for the box I went with 2.2 cu ft at 32 Hz after looking on the forums at SSA and talking with Scott from Fi. I still got the box design Scott gave me if your interested.

Could you PM or post your e-mail address for me Cavs as the design was sent as an attacthment and I don't know how to PM an attachment. I'm on my 2nd box now... first was kinda stolen... by the shop that installed my system for me... and they have both sounded great with a lot of air (made my friends hair move a little )
