alrite guys, i suck azz at making decisions like these.....heres my perdicament
where shold i work out of these following locations?
1. D1cks Sporting Goods
2. Best Buy
3. Restaurant

heres my reasons behind all of them:
#1. at D1cks, i can get good golf discounts on clubs/balls/bags/anything. i think something like 25% off or so is what my friend told me. and its just a good place to work from what he told me
#2. at best buy, i can get discounts on anything there, movies/games/tvs/car audio. atleast thats what my friend tells me.
#3. at the restaurant, itd be real chill. id work with 2 of my best friends and make 7.50 an hour + all tips i receive. another good thing about this place is my other best friends dad owns it. he is real laid back and chill. itd be fun and easy to work here and easy to miss a day of work or two if i have to.

so out of these 3 places, where should i work at? or aleast attempt to work at to begin with lol

Number one all the way bud.

And trust me when I say d1cks.com is NOT the official website of the sporting goods chain lol. I couldn't get it off my pc at work fast enough.

Some here might like it though....

restaurant if what you're saying is true. i assume you're going to be a waiter? if so most employers only pay waiters 2 bucks or so an hour plus tips... so 7.50 an hour plus tips you could legitamately make 20 bucks an hour and thats DAMN good. i used to serve and i made around 16 an hour with my salary added in there..

d!cks would be the most enjoyable and least stressful. (rotfl at that sentence)

restaraunt you'd probly make a little more money with tips, but working in the food service industry isn't for the faint of heart, it sucks.

Restaurant. Sales jobs suck and your tips will more than make up for any discount the other places would give you. Only dicks work at Dicks. And Worst Buy FTMFL. The only reason I would step foot in that place is if it were on fire and I had to save someone I know.

250/week? how many hours is he working?

Best Buy screws you hard if you don't sell enough, up to their standards, at least around my town, my friend told me: if you don't sell like they want you to, they cut you down to one day or half a day/week

I hate working restaurant jobs, I'd go with d1cks....lol

none. Get a job in the trades. Plumbers apprintice, Electricians helper. fire alarm/sprinkler pipe installer. Elevator union, or even the service as a suport speacialist in back up generators. Better pay and future prospects.

My first job I earned $4/hour.

The experience I gained off that job I carry throughout my life. Sometimes it's not what you get paid for a job but what you learn from it.

ok do the one you would like the most i hated working ast a resturant to but it had its advantages you always have cash at hand it you never have to wait for a check and also its easy money if your good at it and since everyones chill it would be real laid back right? the othere places you would have to wait for a check and live up to the expectations of the managers or supivisors

waiter for sure, think about it, every other job u'll just get paid ur wages, on a just where uwait, u get ur wages + tips, u'd be stupid not to take taht waiter job if that's what it is.

think about it, for ur extra sales effort u will not see any tips or extra money from d1cks, and all best buy employees are hourly and make no commission, so the only thing to do to make ur effort worth your while is waiting...

^true, but at some point pay makes the difference. My first 'job' was at a taco-bell making minimum wage. After less than a month I realized they were cheap-azzes that made me clock out and sit there when things were slow to save labor (while I got screwed out of pay). I realized jobs like that are most often dead-end pos jobs, and quit. I worked with plumbers, electricians, roofers, and many other subcontractors, and THEY make some serious dough- and there's always work for them.
I worked at CCity roadshop for around a month, mainly for experience and I got some of that from it. BUT I realized they were out to screw me over too. I don't know who here is happy with 250 a week, if you're going to school that's different, but you can't pay bills with that. If you start at a job getting paid crap, 99% of the time all the raises they could give will still only net you crap.

To answer the question, I'd only work at the resteraunt if you know it's normally busy, and you don't mind washing your hands a lot (I'm a bit germaphobic lol).
The other two jobs seem pretty good, I know BBuy normally pays better than d!cks from people I've talked to, and the discount you'd use that discount more than you think imo. Christmas is a great time to work somewhere like that. Good luck with whatever you choose.

idk about best buy.. but my wife works at circuit city.. start out pay is 8.50 an hour and its not based any way by sales.. we get very good deals being able to buy from the vendor

not sure how best buy works tho...

ive never had a food job.. never wanted one.. to me sales is easier but it all depends on where you work and your responsibilities

You should get a job where you can move up in the business or company. If you stay at D1cks for a long time you can probably become a chain manager or store manager, whatever you'd like to call it and I'm sure you'd make some nice money but that's a long road to walk down. You're still young though so that's something to think about.

I remember when $2.85 was the minimum and I would bust my @ss every day after work, well one week I finally hit over a hundred bucks and was hooked. Honestly if you are looking for the job with the most NOW potential, I would have to say the restaurant. This is only if you have a chance to wait or bus tables, the money is where the customers are at and closer you get to them, the more potential you have! The other two jobs have a set pay scale so you aren't going far... Polo.
