You don't have to buy JL from crutchfield. We all know crutchfield is over priced on EVERYTHING so quit judging JL prices by them. It's not JL's fault, crutchfield determines those prices.

its not sad to see this happene....JL audio is finally getting with the times, they put their stuff online...

the reason that stuff costs so much is bc its great stuff and secondly, its AUTHORIZED

if you buy a 700 dollar w7 online and it blows in 4 minutes, and you send it back to JL, who will in turn find that its missing the 1 2 or 3 of each subs 3 ID number plates, Mr. JL Audio will call you back and tell you go take a hike bc this sub is not warrantied. and THEN, you're out a sub and 700 bucks, but hey im glad you saved 400 dollars...

I have said many times here that Crutchfield sells for list. I wrote to Bill and he wrote me back saying that all the service and install accessories he gives for free makes up for it. I told him that was bullsh!t, and it is. He wasn't too happy about that at all.

well what kind of warranty does crutchfield offer? i couldnt find any warranty info on the W7 other than a 30 day money back garuntee. and im pretty sure if crutchfield finds it missing ID plates they're going to have questions too. not to mention that link to online car stereo sells it for 700 with a one year warranty. so at crutchfield you are paying 400 extra dollars for a warranty that i could even find information on? even if they offer a free 2 year warranty on that sub, it's still not worth buying from them. their prices are bullsh*it.

Crutchfield is a business, their goal is to make money. They do that by selling overpriced stuff to people who don't know any better, and providing tech. support to help those people install the stuff.

All businesses have one goal, to make money. No reason to bash them for that. We, on the other hand know better and don't buy from them.
