Trying to get a new system and these are what i have narrowed it down to:
Two kicker 12" L7's
Two kicker 12" CVX's
One Fi Bl 15
i am trying to figure out which will hit hardest and sound the best. Everybody's opinion is welcome. thanks!

i think for sql the bl would be the most fitting sub
i have only heard a q, not the bl, but people say the bl's sq is not far off from the q, and the q sounds awesome. we all know that l7's get loud and sound like crap
i never dealt with a cvx so i cant say on them.

the kicker subs arent that bad although i would do the CVXs over the square ones but the BL will sound really nice compared to them and get plenty loud.

I wouldn't say kicker l7's sound like crap. They actually sound decent and are pretty good for the price. I'm sure they'll hit the hardest out of the 3. Cleanest? all depends on how you set it up.

thieves, i guess it would all depend on how nasty, loud, painful, and humorous the particular crap was...ha

why not 2 bls? My brother gained a lot by going from a 12" L7 to a 12" BL, it sounded much deeper and louder. How much power you have to throw at your subs would make the difference for me.

Your choices are very different. The best sounding sub will be the BL but the loudest will be the L7s but you should go with the BL.L7s and L5s aren't very reliable.

i agree with burny. the L7 sounds pretty good if installed good. me and berny heard a single L7 in a crx and was very impressed with the sq. we were surprised when he opened the back and show us what sub it was.

I have heard the L7's and CVX's...don't care for them. Seems that every install I hear w/ them has kind of a "wap" sound.

As for the BL's, havent heard them but I have heard they are similar to SX's. I used to have an SX and loved it. Dam great daily sub. If the BL sounds like a beafed up SX, grab it NOW!

Also, I see you are looking at 2 12's...why not try Q, SSD, or DD2512's?

We carry DD in the shop and I will tell you now, they have amazingly fast attack.

Mike, if you want 1500rms why not do 2 SSD 12s? Or even 1 BL 15 would be good. The CVXs have a pretty good chance of doing what you want them to as well.

^I'm sorry, yeah- that post didn't really help anyone did it? I'd ask if you're competing or not. If so, the cvx. If not the 15" BL would be my choice. While it would have a cone area disadvantage, it would sound great and leave room to put an even bigger amp on it if you still didn't have the output you wanted.

^agreed. With copper coils it would sound great and be pretty happy off the slightly less than rms.
