This might be a dumb question, but how much difference would be between 1 18" btl or two 12" ssds with flatwind coils?

O, by the way guys, I got my subs and box back, but not my amp or headunit(which they did me a favor by takin it)!

^ yes. An 18" btl is has more cone area than 2.5 12" ssds. Now the enclosure will make a huge difference from there on out as to spl and how it sounds as well. I've loved every moment of my BTLs, I was actually smiling today listening to some Devil Driver, and the quick hit of the drums.

I was considering buying a bunch of Fi X's to try out, because they're only 160 shipped a pair (less than that if you buy multiple). I figure $500 for 1 btl 18, or ~ $500 for 8 12s. That's a lot more cone area for the same price. They'd be properly powered off about the same power, and need roughly the same box space too. Just a thought.
