As the title states, are there any tips for running a heavy subwoofer? I am getting the new eD 13Av.2 and it's 59lbs. I am assuming I need to double baffle, but is there anything else? For instance, can I just screw the sub in like normal, or do I need to bolt it or something? Thanks for the info guys.

if you're firing it up then you dont have much to worry about other than a couple screws, let gravity do the work.

i use t-nuts in all my boxes, for one they last a lot longer espically if you take your sub out of the box a lot and they are a lot sturdier, if thats a word, they will last a long time.

For REALLY heavy subs, the box would need to have a support for the magnet built into it. Unless it's up-firing.

60lbs.... that aint sh1t double baffle with 3\4" MDF and you should be fine... use the T-nuts and you wont have any problems... if your worried just screw a block of wood in the box for the motor to sit on..

i use hex head screws from fastenal, not really sure what # they, on the box it says 1/4 -20 x1- 1/2 so if that makes sense.

Sounds like a plan M.S.

I think I am going to ask around for help designing. I can certainly do whatever wood working is neccesary, but I'm not so confident in the designing aspect.
