The basket is exactly the same. DD/AQ use the same baskets. The HDC uses the same basket as the DD9500 series. I've built both subs more times then I care to remember. The last HD3's built were upgraded to the DD basket.

The HDC3 in the picture (prototype) I built myself at our build facility (Resonance)in OKC. We also build all the DD subs there on the same production lines. The baskets for both subs came from the same ben and are identical.

The pictures were taken at a slightly dif angle but they are the same basket.

For those that don't know I own Audioque, my son owns Digital Designs. The Langford family owns Resonance.

whats the difference in the motors between the hd3, hdc3 and 3500, 9500??

The HDC3 motor is stronger then the HD3. It has a bumped backplate, three stack magnet, the top plate is not as thick, extended pole piece cross drilled for better cooling and a couple of other things we don't mention. The HD3 and HDC3 motors are quite a bit dif in design. The 9500 motor is a much more advanced design then the HD3 and HDC3 motors.

The 9500 motor is a bigger, much stronger big brother to the 3500. It has more excursion and will handle considerably more power.

Scott I shipped you a SD2.512-4/4 to York PA on 5/28/07. We track all of our customers. The ts specs will be the same.

Great score on 600 watts, that's a great score on 1000 watts.

They are on the slow boat from China.

This is from AudioQue/DJ

The first run of subs will all have the 8 layer FW Aluminum voice coils, dual one or dual two's, at no extra cost (introductory bonus). After these are sold the FW Aluminum will be a $30 option.

These subs are optimized for SQL/SPL.

After the first run the standard coils will be copper with choice of dual 2's or dual 4 and be optimized for SQ/SQL ( very loud daily drivers)

You can also order the sub with extra spiders (stiffer suspension for competition) The FW Aluminum coils increase power handling.

You can also order with American made spiders and coils (hand assembled in our facility) "Best quality parts and assembly"

Recone kits with American spiders & coils (hand assembled in our facility) "Best quality parts and assembly"

You can order the sub in a "build it your self kit " with a preassembled drop in spider, coil, cone assembly with the options you want and build the sub yourself and save a little money.

The standard sub will be rated, like all our products, very conservatively (1000-1500 RMS, 2000 music, 4000+burp) based on clean unclipped signal.

The standard sub comes with all the extra cooling, extended polepiece, beveled pole, cross drilled former and polepiece, triple stacked magnets, premium cone and everything else most manufactures charge extra for.
