Overall I'm guessing everyone would agree on the DD .. but on the same power.. lets say 2000rms which would have the best output/sq

i'm not sure about the D series motors of DD subs. I know the Gs sound good..

Also looking into the DD 9915

People keep hyping on how good they sound but I don't think it will keep up..

I can ge tthe DD 9515D for like $30 more shipped than the XXX

thats what worried me.. im going for the best SQL setup i can do wit ha single 15"

don't think the DD will get low enough or keep on up the SQ.. but it would sure have more output

anyone familiar with the Destroyers?

really looking for the loudest SQL setup with 1 15" .. I'll be competing in SQ so the box might have to be plugged to run sealed unless itll sound great ported at like 28hz

looking for spend $300-$350 .. really no more than $400

Honestly if you like a lower tuned sub then try a TC sub! These things just hit the lows like nothing other and they really move... Polo..

theres plenty in that price range.. honestly if your spending a lot more than that for something maybe a tiny bit better.. its a waste

and Polo.. i thought about the TC 3000.. roughly $330 shipped for one

just something about them.. idk.. just didn't impress me but of course i had not heard one in person.. was only watching videos

the SXs got low enough for me if thats something to compare from.. had two tuned to 28hz

Kevin,

That 9515D is a great sub, but if you are leaning more to SQ...I'd take the XXX. Both are great subs, but the XXX will just sound better IMHO.

I have played w/ both subs...the DD sounds greats, but the XXX just sounds better. On 2kw, you will have plenty of headroom w/ the XXX. (I have always liked XBL^2 subs :-))

Give that XXX ~4cuft at 30hz and have fun man :-)

I was thinking 28hz :-) ..

I think thats what I'm going to do.. I weighed my options

RE XXX, RE Destroyer, DD 9515D, AQ HD3, TC 3000, Fi BTL, Treo SSX

Both the DD and AQ I don't think would get low enough or maintain enough SQ although great subs.

The BTL I don't think would hold up the SQ I'm wanting.

TC 3000, not too fond of TC. Heard they make great subs but I don't want to buy it regret it.

The Treo SSX.. would work but can't find a good deal.

The RE Destroyer I'd love, but not sure the SQ would be what I'm looking for, although I'd love to test the XXX/MT and see how much of a destroyer it is.

The XXX will have the SQ, but I'm not sure if it will have the output?

If the XXX can hang with my old SX on a 35.1 I'll be fine in the output area.

But thats where I stand :-(

Output on the XXX w/ 2kw should be similar to the SX on 1.5-1.6kw...alil more authority down low though :-).

"ssx is a great sql street beater."

Yea, but over priced for what you get...

Honestly, for what your saying you want...Get the TC or the XXX, none of the others have pro's that out weigh its cons(if that makes sense)

Stick with the XXX i love mine and wouldnt trade it for a JL 13w7. Has great sq and it really gets loud. You will be really happy if you get one. I think there's one for sale on CA 350 plus shipping.

hehe the 05 and below are the xbl2 motor and the news ones 06 and up and the split coil motor design. new ones handle more power have about 4in of excursion. weigh a ton and are exspensive. you might be able to find a 15 for 700ish

that alpha is pretty damn good, specially since its the v2, I have a 12" v1 and it sounds amazing as a single 12" setup. haven't really found the box design I want yet, but I'm working on it...

i agree with everyone else get the xxx, will have better sq than the dd and have better lows, and to JK i'd like to hear what subs are beter sql subs than a xxx? theres not many out there if any to some people. in a good box with 2k i could see the xxx doing mid 140's easy, not sure what you were doing with the sx so, but still it would be pretty loud. ohh and fyi the 9900 is not just a 9500 with a compsite cone theres more differences then that.

arguably ofcourse im not sayin theres 100% better sh!t. i'd say mag, rl-s, avalanche and brahma, tc-5400, dd 9100, those are first to come off my head that are comparable or better than xxx. not downing xxx tho. mean woofs

" i'd say mag, rl-s, avalanche and brahma, tc-5400, dd 9100"
true those subs can hang with the xxx but better? i guess it comes down to install, but the 9100 is a beast too bad it costs so fvckin much.

i was looking for a brahma as well.. lol hard to find the mki and mkiis now a days.. i pmed about some motors but no responses

to answer the question on he SX.. i was doing a 146.3dB @ 43hz with one running on an RE 35.1 .. im thinking a XXX with a little more power should be able to hang

but now im at a cross between the destroyer and the XXX .. the destroyer is suppose to be the MT little brother with SQ .. between the XXX/MT .. better SQ than the BTL

it is of course a little more money.. probably 50-60more but has anyone had any experience with one?

the destroyer is a cross between a mt and xxx, a lil louder than a xxx but nowhere near the sq, and for brahama's there good subs but i hate adire so i'd look somewhere else, again IMHO i'd stick with the xxx. and to g irv the holees is a straight spl sub has no sq at all, plus you need atleast 5k to get the b1tch moving.
