Gold Member Username: CtmikeCt. Post Number: 5260 Registered: Feb-06 | i have the ed v1 (whatever the cheapest is) and no complaints at all. and i know someone is going to post the link for the s.d. showdown, but remember that is 2 years old and some stuff on it have changed alot. but still, if price is no concern, second skin all the way. you might even be able to get it discounted if you pm the rep over on caf. |
Gold Member Username: HdubbTeam Revolution Post Number: 2498 Registered: Nov-04 | id say secondskin dynamat extreme or raahmat |
Silver Member Username: Hurricanebr1anWestern Burbs of Chicago, IL Usa Post Number: 112 Registered: Sep-07 | ed v.1 or se...i use se. on the ed website type "forum discount" in the search box for v.1 at $.80/ft. |
Gold Member Username: Nyyfan13Fi SSD USA Post Number: 6331 Registered: Jul-06 | i mean i wouldnt say price isnt a concern but im not gonna cheap on anything this time around.... http://www.edesignaudio.com/edv2/product_info.php?products_id=354 so this stuff works just fine? and this is probably a question which i have to answer myself, but what would be a good amount for a scion tc? basically doing the trunk and the sides? |
Gold Member Username: AdddisorderWest palm, Florida Post Number: 5127 Registered: Jan-06 | rammat search for it. or second skin. |
Gold Member Username: BasssquaredKansas Post Number: 1331 Registered: Nov-06 | yeah i'v always wondered is that the only thing you soundproof just the trunk? |
Gold Member Username: CtmikeCt. Post Number: 5265 Registered: Feb-06 | no. the doors, floor, ceiling, everything. just depends on how much you're willing to do. |
Silver Member Username: ShadeMoxee, Wa U.S. Post Number: 415 Registered: Nov-06 | i only did my trunk, with dynamat xtreme, sure wish i could keep my sunroof from rattling |
Silver Member Username: HomegrowncamFunky Town, TX United States Post Number: 427 Registered: Jan-05 | I just ordered 100sq ft and it came within 48hours of me placing the order. I ordered from elemntal designs it was just the v1. works good and super easy to install. |
Gold Member Username: HdubbTeam Revolution Post Number: 2511 Registered: Nov-04 | imo i wouldnt go with it yanks.i have 30sq ft in my subaru (ceiling) and it realy doesnt do anything. its super thin. i was dissapointed. =( butyl mat is the way to go. if you know someone at bestbuy have them buy dynamat extreme for you. its cheap for them |

Gold Member Username: CtmikeCt. Post Number: 5268 Registered: Feb-06 | the edead is a butyl. you must have the old stuff. plus the v1 isn't recommended for the roof. |
Gold Member Username: HdubbTeam Revolution Post Number: 2513 Registered: Nov-04 | i got the edv1.2 =\ idk it just aint cuttin it. how come its not recommended for roofs? i didnt know that |
Gold Member Username: CtmikeCt. Post Number: 5269 Registered: Feb-06 | not sure, that's what they told me when i called and talked to them about which would be best/where at for deadning a car. did you do more than 1 layer? imo doing more than one layer is where the edead really makes it worth the money. at $.80 a sqft. you can do 2, maybe 3, layers at the same/lower cost of dynamat xtreme and get the same results. |
Gold Member Username: HdubbTeam Revolution Post Number: 2514 Registered: Nov-04 | 2 layers. thats strange. well it came in fast with free stickers ed great c.s. but i dunno bout v.1.2 really realy thin was yourd ctmike? |

Gold Member Username: The_image_dynamicSan Diego Post Number: 2884 Registered: Dec-06 | The original eDead v1 is exactly the same as Peal and Seal. I agree with Mat... Second Skin Damplifier Pro is the best in the business if you have the $$$. If you are on a budget, just use multiple layers of Peal and Seal... it is hella cheap and does the job, especially in doors. Heat it up as you apply it and it isn't going anywhere. |

Gold Member Username: HdubbTeam Revolution Post Number: 2519 Registered: Nov-04 | i say that rahmmat would be good. its the least espensive butyl mat. |
Silver Member Username: Hurricanebr1anWestern Burbs of Chicago, IL Usa Post Number: 116 Registered: Sep-07 | for the price u could use 3 runs of v.1 vs. thicker deadener a key factor is what the deadener will do in heat...in NY i def wouldnt worry about it, but if u got the $$$$... |

Silver Member Username: TejcurrentPost Number: 628 Registered: Apr-07 | ^^^^^I kept my sunroof from rattling by putting a thin piece of weather stripping under that little metal piece- since that's what seems to make most of the noise. ;) And Great Stuff expanding foam is your friend. |
Platinum Member Username: Rovin4 10 Pioneer... Post Number: 12284 Registered: Jul-05 | a cheap piece of sponge behind the number plate eliminates ALOT of rattles too .......![]() |
