make sure the display is in right and the terminals are clean, just hook it right up to a battery to test it out.

hook up the power to the positive of the battery and the ground to the ground on the battery the hu should light up if it works if it dont then its busted

hook up the red and yellow to + and black to ground right to a battery from the back of the HU wires when you take it out, that will eliminate the wires in your car being the problem

Do as Marc said and test your wires with a DMM.

whats with the bump? You still trying to figure out how to wire the HU to the bat to check? And you need the car battery, not some 9 volt thing.
put the red and yellow wire on the + and he black on the neg. The HU should come on. If it dont, its toast.
