yeah a 144.0 db with the car off on the term lab meter is good. That 144.1 db with the car on was lower than it should have been because my bro had to redo his burp because the meter wasnt reading and he had to burp a second time right away and he didnt get a chance to let the stock battery recharge fully or the cap. So it wasnt the best I think it could have done car on. The termlab wasnt as tough as people said it was. we hit 144.8 db on our meter at 53 hz car running on a full charge. Not too bad for one audioque 2.5 12 on 600 rms.

you should be able to slam like us with that vehicle....where was the box placed with the single sub set up? In other words which way was it firing and where was the port. Also how big was your box maybe it was too large. I assume the single sub was a 15. Placement is also a key. An spl meter is helpful too we have one. Its a splmeter.com dbm2 150 meter.

"it was up firing abd the port back"

firing sub up with the port up gave us like half a db in the extreme low end but we lost some 50 hz ish bass

port back sub up was worse we lost like whole amounts of db from what I recall in the whole range I think

the worst result was sub firing foward with the port forward we lost 3 db exactly!

try sub back port back

and mess with box placement ....corner loading a tad might work best but you also might wanna try placing the box closer to the back seat but try closer to the tail gate and work your way back to it and see what you like

well I had my first system in a 1971 chevelle malibu and I can tell you subs bump prtty good in the trunk but dont do anything in the back seat lol. But all kidding aside I know the trunks in them are huge if they are like my chevelle was. I know youll have alot of trunk rattle cuz I did id say stick with the rear firing port and fire the sub up. Mine was subs up and I used a passive radiator firing up also between my subs so I didnt have to worry about the port in my case but I didnt kow what I know now so I got lucky. Also if your 6x9 holes are open leave them that way they it should let the bass roll in better.

you can run the port in the front the only reason I said it was good i didnt have a port is because there wasnt alot of room for the port from the trunk lid and the passive radiator took care of that issue....I used a blown 12 we found as the passive radiator

that box was for one 15"... it was 40 x 17 x 17 sub on top and the port facing back.... port comes out about 14 inches so its about 1" away from hittin the hatch.. if i fold my back seat down and push my box further back i can gain about a db... and the box has 60 sq. in......should i change my box??? how many sq. inches of port can this sub handle?

well for one I think your box is too big. And two your port is too close to the gate which is evident by the one db increase in spl moving it back. There arent any specs on memphis's site for me to run but I would say make a smaler box like 3.00 to 3.50 cubic feet after the sub and port. And make sure this box can be further back from the tailgate with no problem.
