Clarion DXZ855. Only problems I have with it are that there's no high pass crossovers, and it's only a 2-band eq. Love it otherwise, 3 sets of 4 volt preamp outs, sub controls and lp x/over.

I'd recommend pioneer, alpine, or if you're not picky about features, clarion has good sound. I havent heard much about eclipse's new decks, but what I've experienced before was good sound and features but didnt seem too durable.

do it. the problem w it is pretty obvious, if someone else is driving your car or brings their own music, you're out of luck. but it sounds unique as f***.

Yeah, I have the ipod cord too. It works fairly well. I end up unplugging it if I want to listen to a certain song or artist, but that's no big deal.

You could try splicing onto the wires running to the factory wiring harness. Just wrap the original harness in tape. Then you cut each one, solder the three wires together and heat shrink it. I can make a picture if you want, I'm terrible at explaining stuff.

dash kit? Try Walmart....they have them for most vehicles.

Oh and I have a Pioneer DEH-5800mp, I love the fact that I can put the front speakers on a HPF, so no bass comes throuth them, and put the subs on a LPF so no treble comes throught them

nah not quite. It's still there but you've just soldered the wires from the head unit harness onto the corresponding ones going to your stock harness. So it's still there, and you could unhook the new one anytime and just hook the stock deck back up. You'll end up with two harnesses attached to the h/u wiring.

Nah Old is my deck DEH-9300. I just cant bring myself to get a new one. It still looks and works perfect. I just wish it played mp3's without going through the aux in jack.
