Looks like burn marks from a dulling saw blade, or it just had the wood jammed against it hard. My blade is getting dull..
Nice looking, but that port is going to give you a problem. It really should be more square shaped.
Nice job though!

the burns are from using a crappy table saw and the blade was getting pinched.

I will be painting the entire box black inside and out.

The port is 1x36 inches i was very hesitant about doing it like that but it looks pretty sweet i think. But will it sound bad now?

Dustin, im not sure what you are tlaking about so i cant answer your question but none of the wood was warped.

with a 1 x 36 port im afraid your going to have port noise by what they recommend it should be 4.5 high by 36 (1 to 8 ratio)

i was talking about the second pic, just to the left of the sub cutout, i couldn't tell if it was just burn marks from a dull blade or if the board was warped.

yea dustin they are just burn marks.

I used to have bad port noise with my old box but i had 2 round ports that equated to 25 sq inches of port area total and tuned to 35.5 hz this new port is 36 sq inches and flared and tunes to about 34 hz Wouldnt just increasing the area make for less noise?

The 2nd coat of paint and caluk are drying rite now. i will take some more pics just before i put the plexi in which should be in about 2 or 3 hours
