ya your righ...thats why u should find one that puts out something like that puts out high wattage somethin like 15-20amps an the 12v wires, to figure out how many amps u need just look at ur amps RMS and devide it by 12, you'll get the amount of current u need on the 12v rail. Thats only if u want to run the amp to its max performance so u'll need probably about 3/5 of ur amps RMS power!!

a friend of mine has a car setup in his room it runs on a 12v source he sipmly found a wall imput that limits power output such as a dc power for portable cd player their are many that put out different voltages i find many 12v dc's laying around my house thought bout doing it myself but its not very practical he only did it cuz he moved to a new house

i've got a 15" arsenal in my room. i kept it in my car audio box but it still sounds pretty good.

it's really not that hard to do unless you try to use a car amplifier.

BTW, i'm still trying to sell the arsenal...

Nobody ever said it wasn't possible, just not common. And yes I had great success with a car audio driver for my HT setup. I've done it three times to date and I'm currently tinkering in my head on my next one using the next generation Mag. I had a blast with this and don't see myself ever stopping improving on design. 18" FI Q in a 9.5 cu box tuned to 28hz powered by a 1000w Dayton plate amp. She rocks the house.

I'm a car audio guy who rolled into a HT guy over time. If you love something enough you'll take it with you no matter where you go. I can't bump in my ride anymore so I take it where I can. If I have to tear my house apart to get my bass addiction satisfied so be it lol.
