I capped the league at 10 teams because we had an 11th team but not a 12th, and also to keep the waiver wire and draft strong. Phil really wanted in, but I thought it was only fair to wait for the guys that had been at E for a length of time and give them a shot first. Since that time, Phil has become "one of the guys" so I am going to expand the league to 12 teams to include him. The other slot will go to James who has been at E since the dinosaurs walked the Earth and is a friend to almost all of us. So post your emails here guys (with a space somewhere to avoid the spiders) and I will send you the league addy and password so we can get you on-board. By the way for the people that asked me.... the draft order will be randomly set by Yahoo thirty minutes before the draft begins. It is a "rollover" type sequence meaning that if you are picked last, you will receive the 12th AND 13th picks, then it starts going backwards up the list towards #1. Whoever is picked 11th will receive the 11th and 14th picks and so on. This makes it relatively fair for everyone. |

Regardless of if you guys use Opera or Firefox for your main browser I recommend using IE for the draft since the site is optimized for it and there will be little to no chance of any glitches. If anyone knows the rest of the guys in the league that haven't checked in here, try to get ahold of them and make sure that they are there early so everyone gets familiar with the controls. If someone doesn't show up, their picks will be made automatically. Are you ready for some football? |

Mussina's four win streak, not counting his last outing where he lost against a brutal Tiger's offense, is very misleading because the Yankees scored 42 runs during that stretch. Chone Figgins is having a career second half as well, the guy gets on base and scores nearly every game. Combine that with the fact that like James said, Kelvim Escobar is pitching unbelievably right now (10 earned runs in his last 8 starts!!!) and it adds up to a long night for the Yankees. I still think they have a good chance of catching the Sox for the title, but they ran into a buzzsaw this week and are going to have to make up these losses down the road. My prediction: Angels 8 Yankees 3. |
