the elite SPL would be slightly out of his budget i believe, i think in this scenario a BL would be the best choice or possibly wait for the HDC3

Why bother mentioning brands and subs that are out of the budget (sig and cactus).
I almost bought cactus, but they are expensive and the availability is very limited here in the states. I really wouldn't buy used spl subs because of what people do to them. And recones would cost around half his budget.

Maybe it's because I'm old, IDK. When you're young you want to "show off" and parade around thumpin' your shit. If you're a music lover you'd think you would want some quality to go along with it.

Shit, the trucks that drive by my street can bang out some thumps on their own, doesn't make it music, only low frequency vibrations. Ever feel an earthquake? THAT is REALLY low frequency vibrations.....

I was actually told it will hold its own with 4+k. Don't think it could do any worse than my SSX surprised it is holding out even at 17.68 volts at full charge. Polo.. :-)

the 5400 would be fine with 4k aslong as its in a good box, and fyi the 5200 is a better spl sub than the 5400.

Ummm no I was told by TC the 5200 is extremely hard to get t play in a ported enclosure do to it high BL rating, the 5400 is a much better sub to play music with and easy to port, 5200, NOT.. Polo..

"lms's are easy to port with very linear response, the 52's are the challenge with the ultra high BL,

4.5 - 7 cubic feet is your range for the 18'
2.5 - 4.0 is your range for the 15's

tune between 34-16Hz (later being for HT)

For a car, the 18" is flat in 4.6 cubic feet tuned to 26Hz, you may want a bit more top end so you can rise that up a tad. Make sure you use a high pass filter at or near tuning (as always) in a ported box.

anymore questions, give us a call direct.

5400 = pure sq. the 5200 is much louder. the sound splinter rl-s uses the same technology as the tc 5400.

I might agree with you on that but with the amount of motor power it has coupled with the linearity and the 38mm each way of linear not Xmax travel it is indeed an SQL, it can't help but to be loud and sound good. I got to hear one from a distance running a 25hz tone and was really impressed. I am looking further into them maybe an even better listen.. :-) Polo..

ya the high bl of the 5200 makes it very peaky in a ported enclouser, thats why you need to tune low if you wanna have anything close to a flat response, granted the 5400 can get very loud in a good setup the 5200 just has the ability to get "louder", but still for the price these things cost now adays i'd look into something else.

No that isn't just a ring it is a ROCK, lol. She is married she is my new neighbor never said she was single, just has a nice fat @ss, lol. BTW she isn't a grandma, she is 26 and from TN, she smiles nicely when she sees me that is all that matters. As far as stalking, we all do it once in a while so don't give me that innocent sh!t because your jealous because I thought fast enough to grab the video camera that was sitting at my feet! It started out as my cousin not believing me and I needed to get a closeup so my sony has a 425X Zoom so I could have caught her a few blocks away... Polo. AKA "Old School Pervrt" :-O
