Looking for a little added electrical bump. I already have a 300amp alternator and two HC800 Kinetik batteries in the back. Looking at the Batcap 300 and maybe even the 800 for the added boost for heavy notes. I'm looking to run around 4kw.

It says you need to run a negative wire from the front battery to the back setup. I understand the reasoning, but I have upgraded all wiring (big three basically) and use the chassis as ground and have a very solid connection through the chassis. This current setup is time proven...

Is it really necessary?

I'm just trying to cover all my bases so when I make my orders, I can make sure I have all the stuff. Thank you for your time.

What wire gauge did they specify? A car's chassis is equivalent to 4ga.
If the current draw is less than what 4ga could offer, then you don't need it.
