Is it possible to just extend the length to peak at a lower frequency? For some reason my car is EXTREMELY loud but It is at a frequency that sounds a tad high, but only in vehicle. Polo..

I have an interchangable slot port design i'm working on for just that reason. The first box i built w/ it looks promising, but i havnt put the subs in and listened to it yet.

As for changing tuning, try closing the port off some...that will drop the tuning.

adding length is probably what you want to do.

Just screw a board on the port wall, and to the roof/floor of the box... no need for it to be absolutely perfect, but it can be if you wish.

more than likely, though, you'll be fighting the acoustics of your vehicle... and getting more low end will be more difficult than you thought :-)

But the area cant be exactly tuned.

There is no 3.3" aeroport :-)

Internally they can cause some turbulence issues.

External aeroports, however, can't be denied.

I have designs for an external flared slot, but something tells me it wont ever get built.

^^ Do like said above. I'm building a box that will have interchangable port this week hopefully, might give you some ideas. I'll post some pics when the time comes. But yes, if you can, just extend it.

interchangeable is never optimal... you always have to comprimise something with that sort of assembly.

Its best to build a box for a specific purpose, if you need more purposes... build your box more dynamic, or build more than one box.

Thanks for the input! Ya it seems like the car doesn't like the upper range of the box but for some reason my car gets loud low, around 35hz low. My setup is a mess right not but I will try to get more pictures. BTW I am now disconnected from my alternator, literally! I got the batcap 8400 and that thing is big and ugly not to mention powerfull as hell! I have the batcap backed up by one extra 16V battery (2200 cca) and I can run nearly 2 days and have it only drop to 15.7V, if I want I can run it down to 11V I think I have heard of people running a XXX-6500 down to 9V! It is funny because I have the charger for the batcap and connectors that look like for an elec forklift so I back into my garage and plug the car in, nooo more dimming!! Polo.. :-O
