I will be placing another order this week. I've been a major DD dealer for quite a few years, and i've also been on this forum for quite a few as well.
To show my appreciation to you guys, if anybody wants to put together a one time group buy I will give you an unheard of price.
There is MSRP, MAP, Competitor, and Dealer pricing, I'll do competitor pricing plus for anybody who is a member of our forum.
This is a one time deal guys, we aren't supposed to sell over the internet, nor give competitor pricing to those who arent competitors.

I guarantee this will be the cheapest prices you'll ever see on Digital Designs.

I place our next order on monday if you guys have something together by then let me know before 2pm central. Anything bought will be shipped UPS or available for pick-up at my store.
My email address is daviszac@hotmail.com

I'll give all prices over the phone or via e-mail.
If you have a local dealer I recommend buying through them.
(If another dealer were to catch wind of me selling on the internet I'm sure I'd get an unhappy call from them.)
But like I said, this is a one time deal for our forum, the people I consider friends. I've known many of you for years, so I hope any other DDdealer will understand this is a ONE TIME deal for friends.
Feel free to contact me anytime guys.

Ok I just replied to a bunch more E-mails, and guys I have to honest here, I don't like this one bit.
It seems as though many are just asking to ask who have no intentions of buying anything.
Well, thats fine, and i'm happy so many are interested in DD, however, I'm sending out confidential pricing thats intended for competitors.
Anybody who's serious about buying shouldn't have any problems giving me a call to touch base with your inquiries. After that I'll have no problem finishing your orders online, its just to hard to differentiate between serious e-mails and curious kids.
Thanks for understanding guys.

As for the "deadline question". I'm already a DD dealer, so we're all getting the lowest price already and since we don't have to buy a certain volume for a price break, we can order anytime.
However, I would like to order everybodies on the same date so we can ship everything via truckline on a pallet so we will save huge on shipping.

I'm placing another order today for inventory at my store, I could put it off until tomorrow if anybody contacts me.

As for the group buy, when do you guys feel you could get your stuff together by? Next week?

I will do the competitor pricing for anybody on here that wants something immediately. I could complete their order without being in the group. However the shipping won't be divided up between other orders.

I hope that answers all questions.

(Oh, the expedition and s10 are mine, the others are customers, including the regal with the VDI lambo doors. We do that here to lol. We also specialize in hydraulics and air-ride.)

Ok guys changed my mind. NO INTERNET SALES period.

Put some thought into it and realized it's against company policy to ship any DD outside my area, not to mention unethical.

Anybody in my area is more than welcome to come to our store for Digital Designs sales, service, installation, or advice with installation/design.
But we will not sell and ship ANY equipment.

By doing we would have no control with proper installation procedures for warranty issues, nor any way of knowing if we're selling in another dealer's area.
In addition, any area without a local dealer is factory direct territory.

So...sorry guys, I thought about this and this decision is final, there will not be any group buy or any sales through our forum.

Feel free to stop by and see our huge inventory of Digital Designs products.

(please, no pm's or e-mails, there will be no exceptions)

LOL, its all good guys. I don't know if somebody called DD. I decided not to sell anything online after thinking about a similar situation I was in last year, but from the opposite end of the scope.

I had started selling Audiopipe when they first came out and had been an authorized dealer for a couple years.
Well, much to my surprise, a customer says, "wow, thats to expensive, I can buy it on ebey cheaper than that". He proceeded to tell how much it was online. It struck me as odd because that was the exact dealer cost. An example of thier prices is like $36.45, yeah, so I get on the net and check this out.....Guess what, every piece of equipment Audiopipe makes was online with a buy now price that was the exact price as the dealer sheet, down to the cent, with a slight mark up in shipping.
I called AP the next morning, and I was told, there isnt much they can do about it.

There arent to many manufacturers out here anymore that cater to smaller car audio stores.
US amps, RE, PPi, Orion, Soundstream, are an example of many who've sold out and lost not only their smaller and most skilled retailers but their product quality has gone down hill as well.
In my experience I've noticed smaller shops tend to have more knowledgeable salespersons and better installers.
Companies like DD and MMATS constantly strive to protect their dealers by not allowing their product to be whored out on the internet while governing territories for them as well.

Initially, I intended this to be for the members i've known for years. I ended up getting pms and emails from people I didnt know from adam, thats why I didnt reply to most of you.

This was a bad idea in the first place, I got it from Kevin Holden, who's done many of these group buys i'd never heard of till reading his threads.
My store does just fine without a single item being sold online.

Selling online for a price lower than MSRP lowers the value of that product, much like the value of Audiopipe decreased.

Sometimes customers don't understand or tend to forget the overhead store owners have.
I was just explaining this to a customer who was trying to negotiate a lower price on an amplifier.
The amp was available online for about $200 shipped.
Our price was $279 with our cost at $180.
He asked if we could come close to they're price.
Now, you would think why not, theres already a $100 profit but in actuality theres isnt.
You must consider what it takes to provide a store for that kid to walk into and buy something off the shelf.
Heres a short list of costs a typical smaller car audio store has per month.....
Rent/Mortgage= $1500
Utilities= $500
Phonelines= $250
Insurance= $100
Dumpster= $50
Alarm,ADT,ect= $50
--------------------
that adds up to $1450
and we havent even added in payroll yet.
A typical shop would have 2 employees during normal store hours, one installer and one salesperson.
If they're paid minimum wage and your open sat like most, your paying about 700 total per week in payroll. Thats 2800 per month.

Now, you've got over $4000 dollars per month in just costs to have your doors open.

You would have to sell 400 of those amps at $279
just to break even, in 1 month.
Yes, owning a car audio shop is a tuff business these days. The majority of my profit comes not from sales, but labor. Mail order/online stores are hard to compete with.
The internet stores have virtually no overhead, many are nothing more than someone drop shipping from their living room laptop.
The pros for the customer who buys online...cheaper prices, the cons...often times theres little to no available knowledge of the product their selling, not able to hear it before you buy it, and warranty issues?, well we don't need to go into that.
I guess its up to the customer to decide.

Lets consider my store, nothing fancy,
like many shops, we have an excellent installer to ensure the equipment is installed correctly, a sales person who can answer most questions a customer has when determining what product is best for them, a place that offers over the counter warranty, and plenty of product on hand to 'see 'hear and 'touch before you buy it. (Not to mention theres an spl world champion/record holder here to help design the wildest systems.)

Well anywho I think I got completely side tracked,
I made a bad decision to sell anything online.
I thought I was doing some friends a favor but the way it turns out i'm just hurting my store and the value of the product we sell. Was not a good idea to post this thread.

I know theres quite a few DD lovers in this thread maybe you'll appreciate this
Donk I did last month, 4 DD 6x9's, 10 DD 5.25's, and 4 DD15's.
We did the interior in white baby ostrich and red leather. yes, the 6x9 speaker pod looks a little goofy with the white in the center but i did that so it matches up with the white on the doors when closed. anywho, thanks for the continued interest in DD.
