Tell me if this is a bad idea. I am thinking about upgrading my current 360 watt rms amp to a 600 watt rms, 1200 peak. Currently i have a 17' 8 gauge wire connecting my battery to my amp. the amp im looking at has 3 fuses, 25 amps each, while my power cable has an inline 60 amp fuse. Would it be a bad idea to leave the wiring alone, or possibly upgrade the inline fuse? or do i have to upgrade to a 4 gauge wire?

8 Guage should get you by, but I'd go 4 if possible. Fuse wise unless you start blowing the 60a you should be good, better you mess up <18" of wire and a fuse than your amp.

youre fine with 8 gauge only to like 400 rms but with 4 gauge youre good til like 1100 or 1200...or at least around there...i think
