What kind of car is going into? Are you looking for Spl or sq? I take it you meant 1000 bucks right? do you already have the amps?

well its a daily driver, and im upgrading some what from 2 12 cvr's and i meant 1000 watts becasue thats how many watts my amp pushes.

Im looking for spl with some SQ its going in my 94 toyota extended cab.

I have a wall for 4 12s that im getting from a friend if i do decide to go that route.

and they sound pretty nice, and 6 of them would get loud as hell with a nice box. 2 in my tahoe gave me plenty of bump and sounded good.

Why go with 6 sub why not get one or two 15's and call it a day. You might have to upgrade on your amp. What kind of amp do you have?

I had a pair of SD2.5 12's. I liked them better than my old pair of kicker cvx 12's. I swapped the CVX's out of the custom box for them and threw in the Audioques, and the SQ was better and they sounded louder off less power.

nah the EHQS sound nice, i'm in no way saying they are a SQ subwoofer but they do sound nice and get pretty loud for 25$ and with 4 of them and that much power they would be loud and a cheap setup. yes there are much better choices but for 25$ each you wont find anything close to them.

Well the reason i want 4 12s is because of the fact that i could get cheaper subs and be really loud and im wanting to go with 4 250ish watt rms subs 4*250= 1000 and with single voice coil of 4 ohm i could wire them parallell and have a 1 ohm load.

My amp is http://www.sonicelectronix.com/item_3474_MA+Audio+HK1000D.html

So i figured that would be pretty perfect, I guess.

I might go with the ehqs's though :-)

I don't think there's going to be much of a diff is you change your setup. I say you keep it as is.

well im not sure whats best thats why im asking.

And the wall is nothing more than a 31x31x12 box that will fit inside my truck.

Im not stuck on running four 12s i was just wondering what you guys would do with a 1000 watt amp

Any of the audioque subs would be better than the cvr's imo. Like I said before, I liked my sd2.5's better than my cvx's

if you go with 2 15's they will be sealed i assume.

i would go with 2 nice 12's and make it ported and have plenty of port area.

take that box and put 4 4" aeroports in it 25" long each

for subs look at the audioque or the new arsenals

if you feel like you might uprgrade and get another amp you could look at fi ssd's, re sx's, rl-p's and dd 2512

Well here is the thing. Im not wanting to spend all that much but still be loud.

I dont know anything about boxes or ports or anything like that.

I know a pretty good amount about the subwoofers themselves.

I dont care about a few decibles I dont compete or anything.

I just want something that is louder than 2 cvr 12s

I just need some help before I invest money.

Is there that much of a difference between audioque sd 2.5 15s and kicker cvr 15s?

"take that box and put 4 4" aeroports in it 25" long each"

subs- audioque sd2.5 or ascendant audio arsenal
if you think you might want louder then save up for another of those amps and look at fi ssd's

Ok all this is starting to make my brain hurt.

I think im just gonna get me a ported box for my cvr 12s and just leave it at that.

Im tired of just not knowing, im just looking for something loud, and gain a little braggin rights.

Nothing major :-)

okay here is what you do

take your friends box and put a new faceplate on it and cut out 2 11.125" holes

then, cut out 4 6.25" holes on one side of the box

then order 4 aero ports http://www.edesignaudio.com/edv2/product_info.php?cPath=101&products_id=541

then buy 4 pieces of 4" inner diameter pvc pipe

cut them each to 21"

attatch the flared ends of the aeroports to the pvc pipes

screw and silicone caulk the ports into the 6.25" holes

buy 2 12" fi ssd dual 1 ohm with copper coil option. www.ficaraudio.com - go to speakers and the one at the bottom.

wire the subs to 1 ohm and enjoy

this will be REALLY loud and gain you a lot of bragging rights. not to mention the sound quality will be great too. the lows are amazing.

Wow!

Your great help. I really do appreciate it.

Those subs really dont match my output of my amp.

Im fixing to be a full time college student with a mediocre paying job so. Upgrading an amp is the last thing i want to do :-(

i just hooked up my ssd's to a box similar to that today with 550w to each and it is incredible. and i think i only have one of them working correctly and it is still unbelievable. it is fine to power them with that amp, they will still pound, but if you are sure you are never going to upgrade amps and you want to fully power your subs, then look at the audioque sd2.5's
