I thought all cars ran at 12 volts.I was just saying that the birthsheet shows it at 14 volts but that cars run on 12 volts... someone enlighten me |

Silver Member Username: TejcurrentPost Number: 159 Registered: Apr-07 | Regulated power means that it will put out similar or equal power no matter if it's at 2 or 4 ohms (etc.) or 12 or 14 volts. 2. All stock car electrical systems say 12 volts, you buy 12 volt batteries. But your alternator will actually run somewhere between 13.8 and 15volts usually. This is why it's reasonable to also rate it at 14 volts instead of 12. You really shouldn't see much voltage drop from that amp, if so electrical upgrades are in order.  |

Silver Member Username: BigharvPost Number: 223 Registered: Jun-07 | car batteries are 12v which is what you will be using to power the amp, when the car is running it gives more like 14+ volt spikes with everything like ac, radio, windows, lights on. It usually gives more like 13.8v constant which is .2 away from what they benchmarked it with. |
