So....how loud are 2 DD1508's in a smooth daily box???

Its 2cuft w/ 30sq inch port tuned to ~37hz...It surprised the hell out of me! Smooth and deep, plays WAY below tuning. Here are some #s in my truck.  That is in the kick...It did 136.2 on the dash.  Peaked at 41hz!!! My truck NEVER peaks at 41hz...it peaks at 48-51hz w/ EVERY other box i have put in there. Even back when I ran the brahma 10" it peaked at 49hz.  That is the box, I'm carpeting it tomorrow. I have been working on that huge 2 2515 box for the last few days, so this 2-8" box seems so fvckin tiny to me! I built this box in about 2 1/2hrs (I fought a nail gun for bout an hour though...dam thing hung up and i had hell getting the brad out) I'm going to run this box in my truck until my 3515's come in I'll get a vid of this setup in alil bit. The lows are nuts for 2 8's. |

I'm building the box this Saturday. These 8's are great...lol, running them on the 20.1 at 2ohm. They are taking it, but the box was built really large so it would like the lows to show them off to customers. We are building a cart to roll out to peoples vehicles and let them listen to subs/amps/mids/etc b4 buying. The box is small enough to fit in pretty much any vehicle. |
