imo chrome version is only worth it if there inverted. no sound difference from what i've heard. and if wanting a pair of sundown sae1000ds', let me know. i'm selling mine (originally bought them for the same setup). never used, bnib, receipt for warranty. $530 shipped for the pair. cheapest i've found them now bnib is $590-600 (pair).
beware that the 12" IDmax's can't take 1000 watts...maybe 600 tops. i run two of them...my 1500 rms watt mtx amp is barely on 2/5 gain with 6.5V output and eq at -4db for bass frequencies.
I'm glad that it doesn't take a lot of power to get good performance, but it pisses me off that the company says it can do that amount of power when it clearly can't run for more than a few minutes @ 1000 watts. They made me spend twice as much as I had to on an amp.
