what i need from you guys is an idea to make my port wars score higher.....i couldve won 100 dollars this weekend but i lost by .3 dbs so nxt weekend im comin around and taken everybodies money in port wars!!!


throw suggestions to building the perfect portwars box

yep. i hate audiocontrol meters. in some cases they meter up to 10db more than the tl.

yeah i can get there. i just need to build a box a bit smaller with bigger port area. the box i used is the same box i use for my rl-s. its geared more toward sq so it has a small port area. also the box is 3 cuft. its a bit too big for the 9512.

what i hear ppl say all the time is DD love Big ports and its true man..if i were you give your 12 at least 70 sq inches of port tuned to 40hz in a 2 cubic foot box....

thanks. but i doubt i'll ever get around to building it. i am happy with the way things are. just got my mmats 3 way components hooked up and i am happy.

can't wait til i get my indash dvd in there. it is going to be one sweet ride. lol.

we tried our audioque 2.5 in a sealed setup and hit 136 db then made the port smaller 12 square inches and hit 140 db and then 47.43 square inch port and hit 143 db...this is all on the same meter the spl 150....we did like a 141 db in one of our other restricted port boxes that one was a 14 square inch port.....in our 39 square inch port we hit 142.4 db and the intresting thing is the air seems to move most on the outside of the port and less in the center at low volumes anyway

A) it was a 12 2.5 on 600 rms
